After reading the breaking news at my colleague and friend Michael Greenberg blog, I surfed the net trying to find something more and this is what I found:

Dukascopy receives banking license

Dukascopy has just obtained its banking license. The company is registered as a bank in the Trade Register since Monday. Like other online forex brokers, she filed her application in March 2009, following a legislative change which required the companies to obtain licensure as a bank controlled by FINMA. A measure that has forced companies currency trading online to file their applications or to leave Switzerland.

Dukascopy becomes the second Swiss Forex Broker in gaining a banking license from FINMA since MIG Bank gained it last December.

Let’s see if ACM becomes the third Forex firm to gain banking license as they filed it March 2009… too much isn’t it?
