One way or another, if U.S. District Judge James Rosenbaum accepts Trevor Cook’s guilty plea next Tuesday, the 39-year-old Minneapolis money manager is going to do a long stretch in a federal prison.
Cook’s attorneys this week filed a motion seeking a 20-year term for the confessed Ponzi schemer. They argued that such a term would be enough to deter others and would punish Cook appropriately for defrauding hundreds of people.
