Hi everyone

Thursday’s historic stock market 1,000-point smack-down in 30 minutes of frenetic trading, which started at 2pm New York time, fueled fears that Europe’s sovereign debt crisis could precipitate a second financial meltdown and drove the euro to its lowest level against the dollar in 14 months, dipping below the .27 mark for the first time since March last year. The pound also dipped beneath the .50 mark against the dollar, falling a cent and a half to .497.

Wall Street shock left its toll into FXstreet’s traffic numbers pushing the site to reach new all-time high.

The site broke the 100,000 visits mark in a single day to reach 107,977 visits, the 300,000 page views mark to touch 310,289 page views and scrapping the 60,000 unique visitors level to get 59,996 unique visitors.

Amazing!

Of course, such a great day had an impact in the weekly figures that touched new all-time highs as well.

In the week from May 2nd to 8th 2010, the site reached 188,708 unique visitors, 524,861 visits and 1,491,423 page views.
