Forex Brokers Draw Scrutiny

As foreign-currency trading heads into the mainstream, regulators are preparing a probe into whether foreign-exchange firms are using unfair trading practices to take advantage of retail investors.
The National Futures Association, which polices the futures industry, plans to scrutinize its 16-member foreign-exchange firms for any signs they are designing computer systems to take advantage of what is known in the industry as “slippage,” or small price movements that happen between the time a customer orders a trade and when that trade is actually executed.
